William Jefferson Black is a Managing Director at Finance Information Group, which provides perspective and information on M&A, financing, and corporate strategy through a series of M&A and Investment Conferences and a suite of Finance Information Services that are relied upon by corporate executives, capital providers, and advisors in more than 35 countries.
Mr. Black was previously with Stout Risius Ross (Stout), a fast-growing transaction advisory firm, where he served as both a Director in the Valuation & Financial Opinions group and as the firm’s head of Marketing and Business Development. In that roll he oversaw a significant expansion of the SRR Journal, a print and online publication that was recognized for enhancing the technical reputation of the firm.
In his client facing role Mr. Black worked with public companies, accounting firms, and private equity firms on a variety of corporate transactions and related accounting, tax, legal, and financial reporting issues. Specifically, he worked with clients to engage the firm on Fair Value analysis associated with mergers & acquisitions, investments & liabilities, restricted stock & options, tangible & intangible assets, impairment testing, and other tax and legal matters. He also worked with boards of directors, special transaction committees, lenders, and other fiduciaries with regard to engagements invovling fairness and solvency opinions, divestitures, recapitalizations, restructurings, accretion/dilution modeling, and target company valuations.
